Terms of Service

In these Terms of Service, the following definitions apply:

• "Platform" refers to the Alpha Centauri Studies website, web application, and all associated services operated by Alpha Centauri Inc.
• "User," "You," "Your" refers to any individual who accesses or uses the Platform, whether as a free or premium user.
• "Company," "We," "Us," "Our" refers to Alpha Centauri Inc., the operator of Alpha Centauri Studies.
• "Content" refers to all educational materials, including lessons, quizzes, assessments, videos, and supporting resources available on the Platform.
• "Subscription" refers to a paid access plan granting unlimited access to a specific course on the Platform.
• "Sponsor" refers to an individual or organization that provides premium access to users through the sponsorship program.

To access most features of the Platform, you must create an account. When creating an account, you agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration
• Maintain and promptly update your account information to keep it accurate
• Maintain the security and confidentiality of your login credentials
• Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to or use of your account

You must be at least 13 years of age to create an account. If you are under 18, you represent that you have obtained parental or guardian consent to use the Platform. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these requirements.

The Platform provides educational content, learning tools, and related services for personal, non-commercial educational use. You may access and use the Platform subject to these Terms and all applicable laws and regulations. Specifically, you may:

• Access courses, lessons, and materials for which you have a valid subscription or free access
• Take quizzes, complete assessments, and participate in learning activities
• Use AI-powered study tools and features as intended
• Participate in collaborative study features with other authorized users
• Track your progress and achievement milestones

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the Platform at any time with reasonable notice. We shall not be liable for any modification, suspension, or discontinuance of services.

4.1 Subscription Plans

Premium access to courses is available through paid subscriptions. Each course requires its own subscription. Subscription prices are displayed on the course page at the time of purchase and may be subject to promotional discounts.

4.2 Payment Processing

All payments are processed through Stripe, a PCI DSS Level 1 certified payment processor. We do not store your complete payment card information on our servers. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your selected payment method for the subscription fee.

4.3 Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings. Upon cancellation:

• You will retain access to the course until the end of your current billing period
• No further charges will be applied after cancellation
• Partial-period refunds are not provided
• Your learning progress will be preserved should you choose to resubscribe

4.4 Price Changes

We reserve the right to modify subscription pricing with at least 30 days' prior notice to existing subscribers. Price changes will not affect your current billing period.

We offer limited free access to our educational content through our freemium program, subject to the following conditions:

• Free users may select one course to access at a time
• Free access is limited to a set number of lessons per day, which resets on a periodic basis
• Course selection may be changed once every 24 hours
• Free access may be modified or discontinued at our discretion with reasonable notice
• All content accessed through freemium remains subject to our intellectual property terms

Freemium access is provided as a goodwill offering and does not constitute a contractual obligation to continue providing free services indefinitely.

Our sponsorship program enables organizations and individuals to provide premium course access to designated users. The following terms apply:

• Sponsors are responsible for managing enrollments and selecting beneficiaries
• Sponsored access is subject to the duration and terms set by the sponsoring party
• We reserve the right to approve or decline sponsorship applications
• Sponsored users receive the same premium features as paying subscribers
• Sponsorship does not transfer ownership of content or intellectual property

All content on the Platform — including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, images, audio, video, software, quizzes, assessments, and educational materials — is the property of Alpha Centauri Inc. or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to:

• Access and view content for personal educational purposes
• Make reasonable personal notes and annotations for your own study use

You may not:

• Copy, reproduce, distribute, or publicly display any content from the Platform
• Modify, adapt, translate, or create derivative works from Platform content
• Sell, license, rent, or commercially exploit any Platform content
• Use content for any purpose other than personal education
• Remove, alter, or obscure any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices
• Use automated tools, scrapers, or bots to extract content from the Platform

When using the Platform, you agree not to:

• Violate any applicable local, national, or international law or regulation
• Impersonate any person or entity, or falsely represent your affiliation
• Share your account credentials with others or allow unauthorized access
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Platform or its systems
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Platform
• Transmit any malware, viruses, or other harmful code
• Engage in any form of academic dishonesty, including sharing quiz answers or assessment content
• Harass, abuse, or harm other users through collaborative features
• Use the Platform for any commercial purpose without our written consent
• Circumvent or attempt to circumvent any access restrictions, including freemium limits

Violation of these terms may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account without refund, and we reserve the right to pursue legal action where appropriate.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

• The Platform and all content are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory.
• We do not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from harmful components.
• We do not guarantee specific educational outcomes, exam results, or academic performance from using our services.
• In no event shall Alpha Centauri Inc. be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Platform.
• Our total aggregate liability for any claims arising from these Terms shall not exceed the amount you have paid to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

In the event of a dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or your use of the Platform:

• Informal Resolution: You agree to first attempt to resolve any dispute informally by contacting us at support@alphacentauristudies.com. We will endeavor to resolve disputes within 30 days.
• Governing Law: These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
• Jurisdiction: Any legal proceedings arising from these Terms shall be brought in the courts of competent jurisdiction.

We may suspend or terminate your account and access to the Platform at our sole discretion, without prior notice, for conduct that we believe:

• Violates these Terms of Service
• Is harmful to other users, third parties, or the business interests of Alpha Centauri Inc.
• Involves fraudulent, deceptive, or illegal activity

Upon termination, your right to use the Platform ceases immediately. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including intellectual property terms, limitation of liability, and dispute resolution clauses.

We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. When we make material changes:

• We will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page
• We will notify registered users via email of significant changes
• We may display a prominent notice on the Platform

Your continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must discontinue use of the Platform.
